Brock University 4th Year Honors Linguistics Research Practicum and Thesis Project on Music & Narrative
Under Principal Investigator and Professor, Dr. Barbra Zupan, 4th year Linguistics students Kathryn Sirard, Sandra Rivard, and Rachel Gingras have developed a research project entitled:
The effects of music on perception of emotion in text. Kathryn and Sandra will conduct the practicum part of the project and prepare a concluding thesis during the 2011 winter term by determining if, or to what extent music affects test participants emotions as they read narrative excerpts deemed to be happy, angry, fearful, sad, neutral. The music used to accompany the tests is by dramaSound. We will report on the findings once the thesis completed.
